### Pros

- Interior pocket holds small belongings
- Hugs you in the right places
- Great for all workouts
- Straight seams and wide waistband are super flattering
- Buttery-soft Nulu fabric
- Squat-proof

As a shopping writer that focuses mostly on activewear, I've tried more leggings than I can count (you should see my legging drawer!), but the lululemon Aligns are by far the best pair I've ever worn. Not only do I have upwards of six pairs in different colors, but I wear them almost every day of the week to my different workouts, or when I'm lounging or running errands.

I love how incredibly soft they are. They literally feel like butter, thanks to the brand's Nulu fabric, made from nylon and Lycra elastane. But don’t get me wrong—they still have just the right amount of compression to hold you in and provide solid tummy control, without ever feeling too tight or squeezing in the wrong places. I also love the wide waistband with straight seams—it offers comfy coverage while still looking super flattering.

Plus, the waistband has an interior pocket, which has been a game-changer for runs when I don’t want to carry a full fanny pack. Besides my headphones and phone, all I usually need is my apartment key, and it fits perfectly in the pocket.

The website says that this pair of leggings offers low-to-mid support, but I found they actually feature a high amount of compression. I do workouts all across the board—from long runs to strength training—and I find that they keep me locked in (aka they're totally squat-proof) during lifting sessions and long runs, and their seamless design and stretchy fabric makes them suitable for Pilates and yoga. No matter what workout I'm doing, they wick away sweat and pull moisture away from my skin to keep me feeling fresh and comfortable.

### Pros

- Feel slick and cool to the touch
- Interior drawstring helps them stay in place during runs
- Equipped with three exterior pockets and two interior pockets
- Made with a weightless and sweat-wicking fabric
- Reflective detailing helps with visibility during early morning or night runs

### Cons

- Thicker seams around waistband and pockets add unnecessary bulkiness

_WH_ contributor Jennifer Nied and lifestyle director Lindsay Geller are major fans of these leggings. "While I love my Aligns for low-impact activities, these are my go-to leggings for runs of all distances," Nied says. "I also love the reflective detailing for the inevitable early morning or evening runs when the light dims." She says that they stay put for the entire run, even when all five (!!) pockets are loaded with her phone and snacks.

Geller agrees. "These are my absolute favorite for running and walking because they have side pockets to hold my phone, keys, and any other essentials I might need," she says. To make them even better for running, the brand removed the inner thigh seams to reduce friction with every stride. Plus, they feel slick and cool to the touch, which we love during runs because they’re super lightweight.

And, just when you thought these leggings couldn't get any better, the brand added a continuous drawcord to the inside of the waistband. This helps keep the pants in place so you don't have to worry about pulling them up mid-run.

These leggings are also Geller's go-to travel pants, as they're super comfortable and lightweight. Sure, these were technically designed for running with lululemon's weightless and sweat-wicking Nulux fabric, but they work just as well anytime you want to prioritize comfort—which, let’s be honest, is probably all the time.

During my own testing, I did find one issue with these pants. While the seams are removed from the inner thigh, they're definitely noticeable around the pockets and waistband, which I felt added unnecessary bulk to my hips and thighs. I prefer my leggings to be completely seamless and flattering, and this pair didn’t quite hit the mark in that area.

### Pros

- Flattering
- Provide comfort and compression
- Made with the stretchiest fabric on this list
- Sweat-wicking and quick drying

### Cons

- Curved front and back seams at the waist can feel unflattering for some
- Lighter colors show sweat

These leggings, designed for yoga and training, are super supportive and legit made to feel like a second skin. They're made with the highest percentage of elastane out of all the lululemon leggings we’ve tried, making them the stretchiest pair on this list. The fabric is also quick-drying and sweat-wicking to stick with you through even the sweatiest flows. If you're a fan of high-rise tights, associate health and fitness editor Addison Aloian totally recommends these because the band never rolls down, unlike some other high-rise options she’s tested.

In my experience, these leggings are a bit tighter and thicker than the Aligns, which gives them more support and offers that more snug feel, which many people prefer over softness. These leggings also have a curved seam at the waistband to give it a more modern, flattering look. However, after testing them, I find that a straighter waistband (hi, Aligns) is more flattering on my body, as it makes my super long torso look shorter and more proportionate to my body.

The pants are made from lulu's SmoothCover fabric, which is the most body-hugging and smoothing option. Plus, we think it's the stretchiest fabric on this list, which is why we voted them as the best leggings for yoga. I hate the look and feel of seams on my leggings, but these have no outseam, which makes them extremely comfortable and gives them a more laid-back look if you want to pair them with a sweater when hitting the town.

While these leggings never feel wet or extra constricting after a workout, the lighter colors can def show your sweat if you take part in a super high-intensity workout._

### Pros

- Comes in 10(!) colors
- Cooling fabric
- Never have to be adjusted during workouts
- Have a compressive, supportive feel

### Cons

- Runs a bit small due to the tighter fabric

You're not ready for your sweatiest training session until you buy these leggings. The Wunder Train tights are made for high-intensity training and have high support. Their Everlux fabric, made with nylon and Lycra elastane, is soft and sleek, and it's the most fast-drying and sweat-wicking option on this list. Another pro? We tested them in the gym during weight training and found that even the lighter colors are totally squat-proof.

Like many of the other options on this list, the waist of these leggings has a built-in drawstring, so they stay in place, even for your hardest training sessions.

Where the Align and Wunder Under leggings are smooth and soft, these are more compressive and supportive, with a smooth, cooling feel on the skin. During our HIIT and strength training workouts, we found that they never had to be adjusted because they fit the body like a glove.

I’ve found lululemon’s sizing to be pretty consistent, but with this pair, you might want to size up. The fabric is naturally a bit more snug compared to the other options on this list.
