## Worst experience I ever had

Worst experience I ever had, if I could give 0 stars I would.

Dropped off laptop on June 26th, was charged 40 bucks for a "diagnostic fee" which was actually the ex employee Danny signing us up for a warranty for a broken machine. Lying about what we were paying for.

For the next 5 weeks we were there multiple times asking what's being done, what's wrong, what needs to be fixed. Was told just a battery needs to be replaced, told any other damage was fixable. Told that it was being worked on.

Danny said they had a scrap machine to take parts out of, that since it had been several weeks and was taking so long cause they were understaffed we wouldn't have to pay for parts being taken from this machine to fix our computer. We got a voice message on July 10th saying it was fixed. Get there the next day, told that was premature, that it's not done, but testing is being performed, it will be soon.

We go there again and again multiple times over the next several weeks trying to find out what's going on. Always reassured it's being worked on, got my best person working on it, it will be fixed. That it boots up, that it's working just need to make sure it will be able to run and handle what you need to do. That they are performing stress tests.

We get there August 3rd, see a different guy there. Was told that Danny and everyone in the store was fired for scamming and defrauding customers.

He goes into our account, there was a $700 dollar repair quote we were never told. (Find out only then it needed a total motherboard replacement and battery.)

Our computer was marked as "fixed" on July 22nd in their system, it was not fixed, no work was ever done beyond initial diagnostic.

I had to call escalations twice to get just the $40 dollars refunded. Initially they didn't even want to refund me the 40 dollars saying we paid for a warranty and that it was covering any new damages. Theoretical New damages on a machine in their possession that was not operable. What could it even cover? Nothing. Had to talk to escalations again and again.

Today told by Escalations that they weren't going to compensate us for the lost time, weren't going to do anything for us, that any promises their ex employee made, anything we were told is on him. It's our fault for believing that the store was working on the machine and if we want it fixed we will have to pay full price for everything. Full price for a computer we were told by the ex employee that it was being taken care of and fixed. Never go to this franchise. If anything ever happens, any promises are made by any employees, corporate will wipe their hands of anything and everything. Your fault for believing the employee, your fault for trusting the business to take care of you.

## Ubreakifix warning!

Ubreakifix warning!
Please do not use this company for your electronics repair. I very rarely place reviews but this place provided one of the worst experiences I have ever had. I took my shattered iPad in for screen repairs. I spent $275 to repair the screens. Less than 2 months later the interior screen broke in one spot. My 4 year old granddaughter was playing a game where you tap the screen with your finger on an ice cream cone. The iPad was not dropped or damaged by us in any way. I took it into the Janesville location and they were rude and said we had clearly damaged it. When they could not show me any evidence of us causing this issue they agreed to order parts under warranty. I then left the iPad with them on June 19th. I was told I would have it back in a week. After waiting over a month I picked the iPad back up as no repairs had been performed. I called Asurion customer service and was told to take it to the store in Machesney Park, Ill. When I arrived they said this was already determined to be customer damage and took pictures saying they would try to escalate the repair for warranty and call me. Another week passed without any response. I contacted customer service and was told that no warranty repairs would be performed! These people do not stand behind their repairs and I would never recommend them to anyone! If I could rate them as zero stars I would.

## They broke my phone

On 7/22 I left my phone at ubreakifix Towson Maryland location to replace a cracked screen. I was asked to return later that evening to pick up the phone. When I arrived, the phone wasn't done and was asked to come back the next day. The next day I received an email that the phone is unrepairable. When I called the store I was told that the phone is looping between repair and regular mode. That was a surprise to me because the phone was working fine when I dropped it off. After some troubleshooting, I was told that they will need to order a new battery and a new screen in hope that would fix the looping issue. On 7/31 I received a call from Josh, the store manager, and was informed that new battery did not fix the problem. I told the manager that I believe that the motherboard got damaged when the initial repair was attempted and he agreed with me and as an excuse added that sometimes things happen. He also told me that the case was escalated to their regional manager who has the authority to issue me a compensation, and that he/they are going to make sure to "do right by me". The regional manager was supposed to call me on 8/1 but that didn't happen. I now find myself without a phone or any possible way to retrieve the data from that phone because of the looping issue. Today is 8/3 and I still haven't heard back from any managers, local or regional. I can understand that "things do happen", which is unfortunate, but I also expect the management to take the responsibility and at least have the decency to call me, own up to the mess up, and make things right

I have called them three times and left voice mails asking them to return my call since no one ever answers the phone. I have never received a call back. How rude and bad for business. I would avoid this place if possible.

## I'm not happy with the service I…

I'm not happy with the service I received at the Talmage location in Toledo Ohio. The staff reinstalled a new windows on a pretty new laptop, which I'm not able to understand why, since windows come with every computer. Then, the installation was missing the drivers to finish the set up, and god knows what other things will be missing after that. Now they need a week to install the missing drivers.
This is bad work, lack of responsibility, and lack of respect towards customers.

## This Company is Shady...

Do not take your phone to this repair shop. They are shady.
I filed a claim to replace my screen, dropped the phone off, and when I picked it up I noticed damage to the back panel that wasn't there before. The shop told me to come back the next day and talk to the manager, which I did. He said they'd order the replacement part and fix the damage at no cost to me.
A week went by with no call, so I followed up myself. I was told the part had arrived and the repair would only take a few minutes. Ten minutes later, the manager called and said I'd actually need to file a claim through my insurance — but assured me it wouldn't cost anything and wouldn't count against my annual claim limit.
When I called my insurance company, they told me the shop had already closed out the claim, and my only option now is a refurbished replacement phone. I'm still making monthly payments on my original, brand-new phone — and will continue to for the life of the loan — for a device that's about to be swapped out for a used, refurbished one with an unknown history.
This is a clearly shady tactic. The shop damaged my phone, then maneuvered the claim process so they walked away with zero responsibility, and I'm the one stuck paying full price for a "new" phone I no longer have.
To make matters worse, my insurance company was just as bad. Instead of acknowledging that this whole situation was caused by the shop's mistake, the rep basically told me I should consider myself lucky I'm not on the hook for the full deductible. Lucky? I'm losing a brand-new phone I'm still paying for and getting a used, refurbished one in return, through no fault of my own, and I'm supposed to feel grateful I'm not also paying extra for the privilege.
I also want to note that the techs I dealt with were genuinely nice and professional. My real issue is with the manager, who handled this dishonestly and made me feel like the damage and the resulting hassle were somehow my fault — like I was the inconvenience, instead of the customer dealing with the consequences of their mistake.
Needless to say, I'll be shopping for a new insurance provider and crossing UBreakIFix off my list for good. If there's one thing I hope others take from this, it's to actually check reviews and shop around before trusting either a repair shop or an insurance provider with your device.

Go with a local company. They will no honor the warranty between sites so if you are on vacation and the screen goes out you are out of luck. Support local businesses instead.

## What a horrible company

What a horrible company, and they do so much shoddy business, they're too busy to do a decent job on your devices, ppl, because they're employed by Asurion and all about the money. Keep reading the reviews, any that were positive only make up some of the happy endings, what's real and unfortunate are those sad stories that permeate, and should be taken seriously because you're gambling with your phone.

## Somehow I'm Not Surprised

Somehow I'm not surprised that this place has mixed reviews. Samsung recommended them. And because of the problem with my phone I didn't want to spend time and carfare to go down there, so I decided to email the owner since after reviews most of which were negative. This is what I said. " I'm contacting you by email before I to do anything. 6 months ago I bought a Samsung Galaxy A32 5g phone. I didn't immediately charge the phone that it had a hardware power defect and it was under the 1 year warranty. When I tried to charge it, it only visibly pulsed but wouldn't charge. I bought the phone through Tracfone Wireless. I don't know what the problem is even though it's under warranty I can't afford the hidden fees. I want to be misled and charged for things that are extraneous plus time and carfare. I'm on disability and the phone was more expensive than I expected. As I expected he never responded. Been there done that. Caveat Emptor.

## Fixed a Phone we were told was Unusable

My friend's phone was unusable due to several unwanted apps and viruses popping up on the display. We took it to AT&T and they said it was unusable and tried to sell us another phone, but after more than 30 minutes of explaining my friend did not want to get used to another phone, they finally mentioned we could try uBreakiFix. I took it to our local 29th Street Grand Rapids MI store near Center Pointe Mall and Tim fixed the problem in 10 minutes. Not only was there no charge for this fix, but Tim explained how to fix it ourselves if it happens again. This is an excellent service with knowledgeable and customer oriented staff. I will be using them for future tech needs and will recommend without reservation.

## A repair is only as good as the company performing it

A repair is only as good as the company performing it, and their warranty only as good as their willingness to honor it.

I chose uBreakiFix because they advertise a "1-Year Limited Warranty that is valid at all locations." Unfortunately, when a display defect developed and progressively worsened after my repair, the warranty claim was immediately denied without anyone physically inspecting the device. I was also told that this store (in Santa Maria, CA) was "privately owned and operated," and therefore can make decisions inconsistent with the advertised warranty that is advertised as being valid at all uBreakiFix locations.

My frustration is not simply that the claim was denied; it's that the decision was made without inspecting the device and without any meaningful effort to determine the actual cause of the issue.

I thought I could trust them as a national chain. Instead, they performed shoddy work and refused to stand by their advertised warranty. You're better off going with any local chain that actually cares about quality of work and customer service.

## Do not go to them -- it is a pure rip off.

Do not go to them. I ended up at west 23rd st. They lied to me and never told me I was paying 200 dollars for a non-apple screen. The phone cost me less than that -- and, had I known I may have made a different decision. When I got the phone back, the screen did not work right. I kept having to push to get an app to open and when I told that to the person, he said, Oh, Idid not tell you about it not being an apple screen as you seemed ina rush. Not true. and, even if I was in a rush that would be something you have to tell a customer. Bottom Line -- 200 bucks for a screen that does not work. Do NOT use this business in any location. Chinatown is way better. And, now I can't get anyone from that store to refund my money. No one takes the call and no response. This place is a RIP OFF. I think they use confirmation bias to support their business.

## They broke my phone and wouldn’t fix it

I brought my phone in to have the screen fixed. They did a good job fixing the screen however the lock button was broken in the process and they told me it would be fixed but it’s been over a month and they never fixed it. Anytime I called I was given the runaround rudely about not having a tracking number. Then the manager told be she would order a new part and I received a call saying the part was in but when I went to get it fixed an about 2 hours later they couldn’t find the part. I would never go back to this store.
