Mercari’s current structure is one of the simplest in resale: a flat 10% selling fee, charged on the combined total of your item price plus any shipping the buyer pays. There are no listing fees, no per-order fees, and — since January 2025 — no separate payment processing fee for sellers.

The catch most sellers miss is that the 10% includes buyer-paid shipping. If your buyer pays $40 for the item and $6 for shipping, Mercari takes 10% of $46, not $40. If you offer free shipping instead, the fee only applies to the item price — but the label cost comes out of your pocket. Direct deposit withdrawals are free ($2 only if a transfer fails), and Instant Pay costs $3.
