Sea-Intelligence has released issue 177 of its Global Liner Performance report, covering schedule reliability data through April 2026 across 34 trade lanes and more than 60 carriers.

Global schedule reliability reached 62.4% in April 2026, improving by 0.4 percentage points month-on-month and by 4.0 percentage points year-on-year. According to Sea-Intelligence, this was the highest monthly reliability figure recorded so far in 2026.

The average delay for late vessel arrivals also improved month-on-month, falling by 0.27 days to 5.34 days. However, average delays remained 0.31 days higher than April 2025 levels.

Among the top-13 carriers, Maersk recorded the highest schedule reliability in April 2026 at 76.1%, followed by Hapag-Lloyd at 75.1%. Five carriers recorded reliability between 60% and 70%, while another five carriers were in the 50% to 60% range. Wan Hai recorded the lowest reliability among the top carriers at 39.6%.

Sea-Intelligence reported that five carriers improved month-on-month reliability figures during April, while 11 of the 13 carriers recorded year-on-year improvements.

For alliance performance during March and April 2026, Gemini Cooperation achieved 85.0% schedule reliability across all arrivals and 85.6% across trade arrivals. MSC recorded 73.4% reliability for all arrivals and 72.3% for trade arrivals.

Premier Alliance recorded 54.2% reliability for both all arrivals and trade arrivals, while Ocean Alliance recorded 67.6%.

Sea-Intelligence noted that alliance performance has traditionally been measured using arrivals in destination regions only. However, because destination-only data was unavailable for the new alliances introduced in February 2025, the company also introduced an "all arrivals" measure that includes both origin and destination calls on East-West trades.

The report continues to present both "all arrivals" and "trade arrivals" metrics to allow comparisons between the new and previous alliance structures.
