Video tech provider Redge Technologies is providing technology to support the expansion of the digital broadcasting platform it provides for KAN, the Israeli Public Broadcasting Corporation (IPBC), introducing a range of sports-focused features designed for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The project builds on Redge’s existing partnership with KAN and Israeli technology partner AVCOM. Redge previously delivered KAN’s core digital platform, combining its Service Delivery Platform and Video Delivery Platform to support streaming services across television, radio, digital and connected devices.

With KAN set to broadcast the 2026 FIFA World Cup in 4K in Israel, the broadcaster commissioned Redge to develop new capabilities aimed at enhancing live sports viewing and content discovery.

Among the new additions is EnhancedLIVE, an interactive live match timeline available on TV applications. The feature displays key match events, including goals, penalties and disciplinary cards, directly on the video progress bar. Users can open an event panel showing thumbnails, timestamps and descriptions before jumping to specific moments in the stream. The functionality is powered by event data and metadata from WSC Sports.

Redge has also introduced a vertical video experience within KAN’s applications. The feature includes stories-style highlights, short-form match clips and dedicated content sections focused on individual matches and tournament stages. Available across mobile and TV platforms, the feed is designed to provide viewers with quick access to highlights and match moments.

A new Match Detail Page has been developed to serve as a central hub for World Cup coverage. The page brings together live streams, highlights, interviews and editorial content alongside match statistics supplied through an integrated Statscore widget. On television applications, the interface has been redesigned to display match information such as scores, team identities and competition stages.

To improve content discovery, the platform now includes a content screensaver that appears when playback is paused or when a video ends. The feature recommends additional matches, highlights and programmes available within the KAN ecosystem.

The World Cup expansion combines technologies from multiple partners, including WSC Sports for automated highlights and event data, Statscore for match statistics and AVCOM for local implementation support.

According to Redge Technologies, all new services operate within its unified platform architecture, supported by a local content delivery network in Israel designed to provide low-latency streaming for large-scale live sports broadcasts.
