You can read PDF and EPUB documents with Google Play Books. When you upload PDF and EPUB files to Play Books, you can read them on any device that you sign in to.

You can also use bookmarks, highlights and notes with PDF and EPUB documents across your devices. These functions work with PDF documents uploaded after 20 January 2026. [Learn more about how to add bookmarks, notes and highlights in an eBook](https://support.google.com/googleplay/answer/3165868).

## Upload PDF and EPUB files

1.  Go to [play.google.com](https://play.google.com/).
2.  At the top right, click your profile icon.
3.  Click **Library and devices** ![and then](https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/3_l97rr0GvhSP2XV5OoCkV2ZDTIisAOczrSdzNCBxhIKWrjXjHucxNwocghoUa39gw=w36-h36) **Books**.
4.  Near the top, click **Upload files**.
5.  Find the PDF or EPUB file that you want to upload, then click **Select**.

To find a file that you uploaded, go to your [Uploads library](https://play.google.com/books/uploads).
