How long does a Gillette/ Venus cartridge / blade last - when should I change it?

**Gillette:**

The lifetime of a blade depends on several factors.

- How tough and thick your hair is.
- How often you use the razor & on which areas of the body.
- How well you rinse the razor.

For a 5 bladed razor such as those in our Gillette Labs range which is our super premium range you should get 30 shaves from each cartridge.  For Fusion and ProGlide range or our SkinGuard Sensitive you should get around 20 shaves from each cartridge and for a 3 bladed razor around 15 shaves but like we mentioned above, that can vary from person to person.

To get the best shave, we recommend you change your cartridge at the first sign of blade dullness or discomfort. And if you can't remember when you last changed the blade, that probably means it's time for a new one.

**If you are using  any other razor with an indicator strip (e.g. Mach3), please note:**
While we would generally recommend you change the cartridge when the indicator strip turns from blue/green to white, for some it may turn to white very quickly or very slowly depending on shaving habits and grooming products used. Continue to change your blade at the first sign of blade dullness.

To ensure a long-lasting lubrastrip, store your razor in the included organizer tray or face up—away from damp surfaces.

**If asked how we determined "15 shaves per cartridge" or "cartridges last about a month":**
Here is where those numbers come from. The current claim PER CARTRIDGE is 15 shaves for each. The other is based on an average guy’s shaving frequency for the entire pack.
So a cart that can last for 15 shaves would deliver up to 1 month of shaves (because an average person would shave ~13 times in a month). Therefore a box with 20 carts would last up to 20 months.

However, these are based upon average usage for North America and any one individual could get different results (longer or shorter).

**If you are using GilletteLabs with Exfoliating Bar razor:**
Will my blades last longer with the cleaning element?
We expect you to enjoy a comfortable shave for up to 1 month with this razor, as with our other premium razors.

**If a consumer is asking about the GilletteLabs Body & Intimate Razor:**

Why did the lubrastrip text fade?

**Initial Messaging:**

We want to assure you that the visible fading of the text on the Lubrastrip does not indicate blade wear or reduce the performance of your razor. There’s no need to worry—this fading is normal and has no impact on how well your razor shaves.

With proper care and use as intended, your razor can provide a smooth shave for up to one month. However, the exact lifespan may vary based on how often you shave and your hair density.

**If** pressed: Please raise an IA to EU Case Gillette/Venus

**Venus:**

Every Venus cartridge should deliver up to a month of shaves and like Gillette razors this can vary depending on:

- How tough and thick your hair is.
- How often you use the razor & on which areas of the body.
- How well you rinse the razor.
- Where you store your razor.

To get the smoothest and most comfortable shave, change your cartridge at the first sign of blade beginning to tug or pull. And if you can't remember when you last changed the blade, that probably means it's best to change the blade.
