To publish a book with Kindle Direct Publishing, we recommend formatting your manuscript and cover to our specifications. Full details and links to available resources are below. ### Paperback Formatting

Paperbacks are books with soft covers (i.e. not a hardcover). Things to consider when formatting include: trim size, margins, and cover design. During the upload, you’ll be able to preview your book and fix any errors before publishing.

### Hardcover Formatting

Unlike paperbacks, case-laminate hardcovers extend beyond the manuscript. It’s recommended you review those dimensions and make adjustments to your cover, as needed. In most other areas, the formatting of your manuscript is the same as paperback.
