Remarkable is sending out emails to customers letting them know about a new product launch on May 6th, 2026. This will be their entry-level [Paper Pure writing tablet](https://goodereader.com/blog/remarkable-news/remarkable-paper-pure-tablet-is-coming-out-soon). The screen will be around 10.3 inches and will cost $350 to $450, depending on whether you purchase a bundle. But at this price, there are some big sacrifices to get there.

In short, this looks like a very value-engineered device, designed to achieve a very competitive price, and it should be a true successor to the Remarkable 2, which was best in class with price and function when it launched. The Paper Pure will not be compatible with other 3rd-party styluses, and the Remarkable Pen will be the only one that works. This is because they are using a semi-proprietary USI stylus rather than a Wacom stylus.

The third-generation 10.3-inch display is whiter and has more contrast than ever before. Digital ink appears in just 21 ms — faster than the blink of an eye. It will have a custom-made pen used for drawing, taking notes, or viewing/editing PDF files. Remarkable Paper Pure weighs just 0.79 lb (360 g), or about as much as a good paper notebook. The 3820 mAh battery lasts up to three weeks on a single charge, letting you focus on work without worrying about power. Whereas the Remarkable 2 had a 3000 mAh battery.

There are screws on the back, and likely the battery will be replaceable. This is due to a new Euro mandate requiring all devices to be able to swap out the battery if it dies, thereby prolonging the product’s life. The design is similar to the 1st generation Kindle Scribe without being a carbon copy. It has Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, and it comes with a number of new sleeves and cases.

Drawbacks of the Paper Pure? There is no front-light system; it is mainly made of plastic. proprietary pen and not compatible with cases and accessories that were made for the Remarkable 2.

This information comes from several [leaked product listings](https://www.aucklanddutyfree.co.nz/remarkable-paper-pure-with-marker.html) that went up early. We will publish a new article on May 6th with the full tech specs, including resolution, processor, RAM, storage, accessories, and more.
