**Reut Naggar** ([Hebrew](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hebrew_language "Hebrew language"): רעות נגר; born May 2, 1983) is an Israeli producer, cultural entrepreneur and social activist, mainly focusing on [LGBT](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LGBT "LGBT") and [women's rights](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Women's_rights "Women's rights"). Naggar is the founder and co-owner of WDG, an LGBT [news site](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/News_site "News site"), and the producer of the theater production "Lesbihonest". Member of the [Tel Aviv Jaffa City Council](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tel_Aviv-Yafo_Municipality "Tel Aviv-Yafo Municipality").[\[1\]](#cite_note-1)

Naggar was born in [Tel Aviv](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tel_Aviv "Tel Aviv") and grew up in [Ashdod](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ashdod "Ashdod"). She served her [compulsory military service](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Conscription "Conscription") in the [IDF](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Israel_Defense_Forces "Israel Defense Forces") between the years of 2001–2004 in the Logistics Unit as an [Operations Officer](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operations_Officer "Operations Officer"). Following her army service, Naggar went on to obtain a B.Sc. in [Chemistry](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chemistry "Chemistry") and [Internal Medicine](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Internal_Medicine "Internal Medicine") from [Bar Ilan University](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bar_Ilan_University "Bar Ilan University"). She studied [capital Markets](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Capital_Markets "Capital Markets") at Psagot College and Creative Writing at "Aboodi" College, an advertising school. Following her studies, Naggar worked at several advertising companies, including [Saatchi & Saatchi](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saatchi_&_Saatchi "Saatchi & Saatchi").

In 2014, Naggar co-founded the [Lesbian bar](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lesbian_bar "Lesbian bar") Amazona,[\[2\]](#cite_note-2) where she produced [LGBT](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LGBT "LGBT") cultural events. In 2015, she produced the international LGBT film festival, [TLVFest](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TLVFest "TLVFest")"[\[3\]](#cite_note-3) and was the producer of the "Yemei Tarboot" project, by [Mifal HaPayis](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mifal_HaPayis "Mifal HaPayis"). Naggar also worked at several Israeli [NGOs](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NGO "NGO") as a content manager, event producer and alumni network coordinator.[\[4\]](#cite_note-4)

Naggar, along with George Avni, created the website WDG.co.il – Israel's only independent LGBT news website. The site was created to provide a political voice to the LGBT community in Israel and bring news from Israel and the world to the community in its own language.[\[5\]](#cite_note-5) The website reflects the diversity of reality, breaks down stereotypes and includes calls to action, personal articles, and updates about events and activities for the community.

In 2016, Naggar produced the show "Lesbihonest" with actress and poet, Mika Ben Shaul.[\[6\]](#cite_note-6) The show includes [comedy sketches](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sketch_comedy "Sketch comedy"), songs and poems about women who love women. The show was first staged at the [LGBT center in Tel Aviv](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tel_Aviv_Municipal_LGBT_Community_Center "Tel Aviv Municipal LGBT Community Center"), followed by a nationwide tour including performances in [Jerusalem](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jerusalem "Jerusalem"), [Haifa](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Haifa "Haifa"), [Beersheba](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beersheba "Beersheba"), [Netanya](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Netanya "Netanya") and more. "Lesbihonest" now shows regularly at Israel's national theatre, [HaBima](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Habima_Theatre "Habima Theatre").

That same year, Naggar was selected as one of the LGBT community most influential women by "[Time Out Tel Aviv](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Time_Out_\(magazine\) "Time Out (magazine)")".[\[7\]](#cite_note-7)

In 2017 Naggar founded the band "Pashoot" in honor of the tenth anniversary of [Lethal Lesbian](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lethal_Lesbian "Lethal Lesbian") Film Festival, and performed at the festival's venue, [Tel Aviv Cinematheque](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tel_Aviv_Cinematheque "Tel Aviv Cinematheque"). She currently resides in Tel Aviv.[\[8\]](#cite_note-8)

## Public and Political Activity

Naggar is an activist for [LGBT rights](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LGBT_rights_in_Israel "LGBT rights in Israel"), [feminism](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Feminism "Feminism") and [gender equality](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gender_equality "Gender equality") in Israel. She was one of the heads for the [campaign](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Civil_society_campaign "Civil society campaign") "Women at the Front", the theme for the 2016 Pride events in Tel Aviv, to promote women in leadership positions in the community.[\[9\]](#cite_note-9)[\[10\]](#cite_note-10) She was also one of the leaders of the 2018 [SlutWalk](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SlutWalk "SlutWalk").[\[11\]](#cite_note-11)

Naggar produced the "Golden LGBT" event for elderly LGBT community and the LGBT [Passover Seder](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Passover_Seder "Passover Seder") on behalf of [Israel's LGBT Task Force](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Aguda_%E2%80%93_Israel's_LGBT_Task_Force "The Aguda – Israel's LGBT Task Force") and the [Tel Aviv Municipal LGBT Community Center](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tel_Aviv_Municipal_LGBT_Community_Center "Tel Aviv Municipal LGBT Community Center"). Naggar also contributes articles to "mako" news site, on LGBT relationships and [pluralism](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pluralism_\(political_philosophy\) "Pluralism (political philosophy)").

In February 2018, she announced that she would run in the elections for the Tel Aviv city council on the [Meretz party](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Meretz "Meretz") ticket.[\[12\]](#cite_note-12) In the party elections, held in May 2018, Naggar was achieved seventh place in the Meretz list, but eventually gained the fifth slot following changes. However, In the municipal elections in October 2018, the Meretz won only three seats on the city council.

In July 2018 she was one of the founders of the "Pink female Panthers" group, which initiated the [Israeli LGBT's strike](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2018_Israeli_LGBT's_strike "2018 Israeli LGBT's strike").[\[13\]](#cite_note-13)
