**One Identity** is a company that provides [identity and access management](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Identity_and_access_management "Identity and access management") products. One Identity’s main product is [OneLogin](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/OneLogin "OneLogin"), which allows businesses to securely manage user logins and access applications and systems.[\[1\]](#cite_note-1)[\[2\]](#cite_note-2)[\[3\]](#cite_note-3)

One Identity operates as a part of the [Quest Software](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quest_Software "Quest Software") and formerly was a part of [SonicWall](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SonicWall "SonicWall").[\[4\]](#cite_note-4)[\[5\]](#cite_note-5)

In August 2016, [Dell](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dell "Dell") started selling its software group to private equity firms [Francisco Partners](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Francisco_Partners "Francisco Partners") and Elliott Management.[\[6\]](#cite_note-6) As part of the sale, [Quest Software](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quest_Software "Quest Software") and One Identity were separated from the American cybersecurity company [SonicWall](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SonicWall "SonicWall") to operate as independent companies.[\[7\]](#cite_note-7)[\[8\]](#cite_note-8)[\[9\]](#cite_note-9) On June 1, 2017, One Identity was announced as an independent brand.[\[10\]](#cite_note-10)[\[11\]](#cite_note-11)[\[12\]](#cite_note-12)

On October 4, 2021, One Identity announced its acquisition of [OneLogin](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/OneLogin "OneLogin"), a provider of identity and access management software.[\[22\]](#cite_note-22)[\[23\]](#cite_note-23) In the same year _[VentureBeat](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/VentureBeat "VentureBeat")_ reported that a 2021 study by One Identity found that 95% of organizations struggle to manage the increasing sprawl of digital identities.[\[24\]](#cite_note-24)
