IIF primarily invests in infrastructure projects in Israel, including water, energy, [logistics](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Logistics "Logistics"), roads, and transportation. Its total investments amount to approximately $3 billion, executed through three funds and co-investments.[\[2\]](#cite_note-2)[\[3\]](#cite_note-3) As part of its transport infrastructure investments, IIF acquired 75% ownership of Derech Eretz,[\[4\]](#cite_note-4) the company responsible for constructing, maintaining, and operating [Highway 6](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Highway_6_\(Israel\) "Highway 6 (Israel)") in 2012 from [Africa Israel](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Africa_Israel_Investments "Africa Israel Investments"), [Shikun & Binui](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shikun_&_Binui "Shikun & Binui"), and Canadian Highways.[\[5\]](#cite_note-5) IIF also owns 75% of Netivei HaYovel,[\[6\]](#cite_note-6) the company that operates and maintains [Route 431](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Route_431_\(Israel\) "Route 431 (Israel)"), which connects Ayalon South to [Modi'in-Maccabim-Re'ut](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Modi'in-Maccabim-Re'ut "Modi'in-Maccabim-Re'ut"). In the transportation sector, IIF invested in a 50% stake in [CityPass](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jerusalem_Light_Rail "Jerusalem Light Rail"), the company that operated the [Jerusalem Light Rail](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jerusalem_Light_Rail "Jerusalem Light Rail") until the concession was transferred to Kfir on April 16, 2021.[\[7\]](#cite_note-7) Additionally, IIF holds an investment in [Swiss port](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Swissport "Swissport"), which provides cargo services at [Ben Gurion Airport](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ben_Gurion_Airport "Ben Gurion Airport"). ### Seawater Desalination \[[edit](https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Israel_Infrastructure_Fund&action=edit§ion=4 "Edit section: Seawater Desalination")\] IIF owns Via Maris, a company specializing in [desalination](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Desalination "Desalination"), which operates the Palmachim desalination plant,[\[8\]](#cite_note-8) producing approximately 100 million cubic meters of desalinated water annually. The fund also has investments in [Tower Vision](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tower_Vision "Tower Vision"), which owns around 10,000 wireless telecom infrastructure towers in India.[\[9\]](#cite_note-9) IIF's energy holdings include a 20% stake in [Dalia Power Energies](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dalia_Energy_Companies "Dalia Energy Companies"), an independent power plant near [Kfar Menahem](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kfar_Menahem "Kfar Menahem") that generates approximately 900 MW using [natural gas](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Natural_gas "Natural gas") as part of clean energy initiatives. The fund has also acquired a stake in the [Tamar gas field](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tamar_gas_field "Tamar gas field").[\[10\]](#cite_note-10) IIF is a shareholder in Ella Power Energies, which operates power plants, and has invested in East Mediterranean Gas Company (EMG), which purchases natural gas from Egypt and supplies it to Eastern Mediterranean countries via the [El Arish-Ashkelon pipeline](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/El_Arish-Ashkelon_pipeline "El Arish-Ashkelon pipeline"). The fund also holds a 50% stake in Win Energy, a company specializing in the development and operation of [wind energy](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wind_energy "Wind energy") power plants in Europe.
